Safety Guidelines

SocialCue helps adults discover one another at public venues. Whether you meet anyone in person is entirely your decision and your responsibility. These guidelines describe practical steps and the controls you have; they are not a guarantee of safety. They support our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

We do not verify members, and we do not supervise, monitor, or chaperone any meeting. We do not run background checks, criminal-records checks, identity verification, or photo verification, and we have no staff present at venues.

• Meet in public. We strongly recommend that any first meeting happen in a public place, during business hours, with other people present.
• Tell someone. Consider telling a friend where you are going and who you are meeting.
• Use your judgment. Trust your instincts, stay aware of your surroundings, and leave any situation that feels unsafe.

Share personal details slowly and only when you are comfortable. On SocialCue, your contact handles are disclosed to another member only after you are connected and you have each separately chosen to share them — one person opting in reveals nothing. Nothing obligates you to share contact details, respond, or meet.

• Venues are independent businesses. Unless we explicitly say otherwise, SocialCue does not own, operate, staff, or supervise a venue, and your presence there is subject to that venue’s own rules and the laws that apply.
• Arrange your own transport and keep control of it.
• Look after yourself. Know your limits, keep an eye on your drink, and stay in control of your night.

You control when and how you appear:

• You choose your visibility. You decide when you appear to others and when you don’t.
• Ghost Mode. Turning on Ghost Mode immediately removes your current presence records so you stop appearing at any venue at once. You may turn it on or off at any time.
• Your exact location is never shown to another member. Members see only that you are present at a venue — never your coordinates, and never a live headcount.
• Location permission. You may revoke location access at any time in your device settings; presence features will then stop working. Location accuracy is not guaranteed — do not rely on the Service to determine anyone’s actual whereabouts.

If someone harasses, threatens, stalks, or otherwise makes you feel unsafe, you have tools that work immediately:

• Block another member at any time. Blocking takes effect immediately and is silent — the blocked person is not told.
• Report a profile, photo, or comment directly in the app. Reports are confidential and your identity as a reporter is not disclosed.

Persistence after a declined or ignored approach is harassment and is not allowed — see our Community Guidelines.

If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services first, then report the member in the app. SocialCue is not an emergency service and cannot respond to emergencies.
