Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Our standard
SocialCue has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These Child Safety Standards apply to every part of SocialCue — profiles, photos, venue and event channels, comments, invitations, connections, and any contact details members choose to exchange — and to conduct that begins on SocialCue and continues anywhere else. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
1. SocialCue is for adults only
You must be at least 18 years old to use SocialCue. Persons under 18 are prohibited from creating an account or using SocialCue in any capacity. We check age from the date of birth given at registration and refuse registration to anyone under 18. We do not verify age with identity documents, so if you believe a member is under 18, please report them.
How we handle an account that belongs to someone under 18 is described in Age Restriction & Children’s Privacy.
2. What is prohibited
SocialCue prohibits any content or conduct that sexually abuses, exploits, or endangers a child, including:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any photo, video, drawing, or AI-generated or altered image that depicts or sexualizes a minor, including creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, or linking to it, or directing anyone to it elsewhere.
- Grooming — befriending, contacting, or building trust with a minor, or with someone you believe to be a minor, in order to make sexual contact online or in person.
- Sextortion — threatening, coercing, or blackmailing anyone using real or claimed intimate images of a minor.
- Trafficking and sexual exploitation of minors — advertising, recruiting, or soliciting a minor for sex or commercial sexual exploitation.
- Sexualized interaction with minors — sexual comments, requests, or content involving or directed at a minor.
- Facilitating sexual contact with a minor — using SocialCue to arrange, encourage, or help anyone make sexual contact with a minor, including meeting a minor, or bringing a minor to a meetup arranged through SocialCue.
3. How to report a child-safety concern
You can report a concern directly in the app:
- A member. Open the member’s profile, tap Report, and choose Child safety, sexual exploitation or trafficking. Use this for a concern about a member’s photos too, and add any details that will help us understand what you saw.
- A photo. Tap Report photo on the photo and choose the same reason.
- A comment. Tap Report on the comment and choose the same reason.
Reports are confidential. The person you report is not notified, and your identity as a reporter is not disclosed to them.
Please do not download, screenshot, or forward a suspected sexual image of a minor, even to report it. Describe what you saw and where, and we will review it in SocialCue.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first. SocialCue is not an emergency service.
4. Blocking
You can block any member from their profile at any time. Blocking takes effect immediately and is silent — the blocked member is not told. A blocked member can no longer see your profile or send you an invitation, and you no longer appear to each other among a venue’s members.
5. How SocialCue responds
Reports are reviewed by the SocialCue team. Photos are not automatically reviewed for content, so member reports are how most concerns reach us.
When we find content or conduct that breaks these standards, we may remove it from view on SocialCue — for example, removing a reported photo from a member’s profile or hiding a comment — and suspend the account. A suspended account can no longer use SocialCue.
6. Contact
For questions about these standards, or to raise a child-safety concern with SocialCue, email childsafety@socialcue.co. Members should report a specific account or comment in the app, as described above, so that it reaches our review queue.
